What’s that?!? #NaPoWriMo (9)

AND THE ASSIGNMENT IS: write a poem that includes a line that you’re afraid to write. This might be because it expresses something very personal that makes you uncomfortable – either because of its content, or because it seems too emotional or ugly or strange. Or even because it sounds too boring or expected. But it should be something that you’re genuinely a little scared to say.

============================================================================

Howling winds in late-night storms rattle your windowpane;
Lightning flashes! Thunder crashes! And your mind is tricked again!
What’s that?! Looking in through the window? You’re sure you saw a face!
You muster the courage to look, but nothing’s disturbed from its place.
You curl like a ball in your blankets, clutching your flashlight close;
As you stare across to your closet thinking you heard a ghost!
It’s doesn’t happen all the time, but it really is a bother:
MUST STOP watching all-night horror shows arm-in-arm with Mother!
