AND THE ASSIGNMENT IS: Poets have been writing about flowers since the dawn of time. Today, the challenge is to add your own poem to this long tradition, by finding a flower, and versifying in its honor.
============================================================================
You can find them in The Rockies and many a country lane;
The little bright-pink, purple flower that answers to more than one name.
It’s been since 1930, Alberta’s sweet, little flower;
Symbolic of diversity, teamwork and power —
So pink in May, and purple in June, then turn an August red;
With the brightest golden-yellow at the center of its head.
