AND THE ASSIGNMENT IS: write entries for an imaginary dream dictionary pick one (or more) of the following words, and write about what it means to dream of these things:
TEACUP | HAMMER | SEAGULL | BALLET SLIPPER
SHARK | WOBBLY TABLE | DENTIST | ROWBOAT
The DENTIST and the SEAGULL had just sat down for tea;
The two, both loved to gossip, each mid-week after three.
“My best friend, Pearl,” the seagull said, “Sings sweeter than a lark;
“Dancing with a BALLET SLIPPER – a virtuoso SHARK!”
The DENTIST sensed the awkwardness, studying the WOBBLY TABLE;
And swiftly he swung a HAMMER, with all that he was able,
Shattering a TEACUP, and wasting the last of the tea
Go back to sleep in the ROWBOAT: it’s a nightmare, imaginar- ily.
