Fighting the URGE #NaPoWriMo (7)

AND THE ASSIGNMENT IS: to write a Tritina. The Tritina is a shorter cousin to the Sestina, involving three, three-line stanzas, and a final concluding line. Three “end words” are used to conclude the lines of each stanza, in a set pattern of ABC, CAB, BCA and all three end words appear together in the final line.

urge kill cat

All day. All night. I fight the URGE
Of the most primal need: to KILL
An ungrateful creature that, wails like a CAT!

The beast, not of this world, looks just like a CAT
But I must purge, this insatiable URGE
(But I doubt that will) and go out and KILL

All I want is sleep! I do not want to KILL
This playful thing that, purrs like a CAT
I haven’t the nerve, to act out this URGE

This URGE to KILL a CAT
