Little Lambs of Innisfail

Was cleaning up a thumb drive of old photographs from my camera. (Yes, you know those archaic photography devices that eventually were replaced by our cellular phones?).

The pictures were taken during a family vacation in July 2007.  We were travelling home from Drumheller and made a quick pit-stop in Innisfail.

[Aside] Unbeknownst to many, there is an unspoken agreement for when the wife and I travel together — with or without children:

“For every break, or pit stop, that requires her getting coffee, he gets to take five (5) pictures in one (1) cemetery — provided it is during the same trip.”

Innisfail Cemetery is a open area with a large veterans’ section flanked by many trees and shrubs.

Walking into the well-kept property, you notice the modest flagpole surrounded by the rows on rows of soldiers, sailors and airmen at their last post.

Turning to the front of the property, the sentry of scattered trees obscure the fence line giving the illusion of vast, green fields.  A pair of trees form the upper arms of a heraldry pall, or a “Y,” but where the two arms would intersect are two little lambs (as shown in the featured image above and the detailed one below.).

Further Information: (From Find A Grave, dated 23 OCT 2013) relates the remainder of Annie’s grave details: BORN FEB 3 1906 | DIED APR 20 1906

Unfortunately, nothing further was gleaned from the 2013 photograph supplied by Find-A-Grave taken of Georgei’s gravestone.

I think it’s time for a re-visit to Innisfail
