When Flying Officer Robert Leslie EDWARDS was killed, military records reported he was 44 years old.
He was flying a Hurricane aircraft with #1 RCAF Squadron against German Dornier DO-17 bombers.
He was the first allied pilot shot down.
He died in the Battle of Britain.
He is buried in Brookwood Military Cemetery in Woking, Surrey, England.
He was family.
